Cyclones are the work horses in the field of dust removal. Versatile, robust, durable and low maintenance. Prior to constructing a cyclone we conduct numerous calculations, and if necessary practical tests in order to determine the optimal design of a cyclone, taking into account your wishes and requirements regarding dust emission, energy consumption, service life, etc.
Besides the common applications, such as pre-separator or spark arrester Airtechnic is strong in designing cyclones and multi-cyclones for special applications such as flue gas cleaning or product separation in pneumatic conveying systems, which requires determination of the maximum separation efficiency and specialist knowledge of construction materials.
Over the years cyclones have been considered mainly as pre-separators. However, nowadays it is possible to obtain high separation efficiencies with cyclones as well. Thus the field of operation for cyclones has become much wider than previously. And, with multi-cyclones it is even possible to obtain a much higher separation resulting in a dust emission less than 5 mg/Nm³, without back filter.

Airtechnic provides a wide range of dust collectors. For capacities up to 10,000 m³ per hour we offer dust collectors manufactured by MIX Srl. For larger capacities or very special applications we design dust collectors in-house. The basis of dust collectors designed by Airtechnic forms the oval shaped bag filters. The main advantage of oval-shaped filter elements opposed to the use of circular filter elements, is the compact construction, so less space in your facility is needed for installing the dust collector.

For the purification of air streams containing odours or toxic gases and vapors, activated carbon filters are applied. The performance of activated carbon is based on the principle of adsorption and chemical sorption. In particular hydrocarbons (VOC's) are trapped by adsorption. These molecules bind through vanderWaals forces to the activated carbon. The porous structure of activated carbon has a very large contact area and hence high gas adsorption capacity.
Substances other than hydrocarbons are mostly captured by means of chemi-sorption. In that case, activated carbon is impregnated with chemicals and the molecules in the gas or vapour reacts with these chemicals and remain captured in the activated carbon.
Because dust distorts the functionality of activated carbon, it is necessary to place a dust filter in front of the activated carbon bed.
